This exhibition is a touring exhibition of Jun Tsunoda’s solo exhibition Automatic Writing, held at GASBON METABOLISM (Hokuto City, Yamanashi Prefecture).
In the pictorial space of Jun Tsunoda’s works reside forms that are constructed by large, composed strokes. Their placements and dynamism embedded within the composition bring satisfaction and enjoyment that resembles musical appreciation. Surpassing the flatness of a painting, his works encompass multi-dimensional senses, which appeal to both auditory and visual and organ senses. In addition to new large tableaus, the exhibition will feature a series of newly presented laser-engraved plaster, which Jun Tsunoda has been using as a medium since the beginning of his career, showcasing fresh interpretations of skin-like painting surfaces. Furthermore, several hundred drawings drawn by the artist as his daily routine prior to his creative process will be exhibited all at once.
This exhibition is a large-scale ambition, showcasing Jun Tsunoda’s never before seen drawings and large-size works, which were made since relocating his creative base to Yamanashi.
